Maria Ruiz

 

Director of Community Relations


Maria Ruiz is the Director of Community Relations at Dacra.  In this role, Ruiz serves as the primary liaison between the real estate development company and key members of the communities in which it operates. In the Miami Design District, she oversees the organization’s day-to-day communications, relationships and programming for key constituencies such as design tenants, neighborhood associations groups, the South Florida Concierge Association, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Miami Police Department. In addition to this role, Ruiz is also a part of the leasing team at Dacra. She has worked for Dacra for more than decade and during that time she has witnessed the continued transformation and growth of the Miami Design District neighborhood.

Prior to joining Dacra, Ruiz worked in the music industry in a variety of capacities and with international artists including Prince, Madonna, Pink and Juanes. Most recently, she was the membership and project manager for the Latin Grammys.  During the course of her career, she has held positions at AOL Latin America, Peer Music, and The Box.  Her first job in music was with Luther Campbell, founder of Luke Records and 2 Live Crew.

Ms. Ruiz studied Anthropology and Business at Florida International University. She also serves on the Beacon Council Creative Advisory Board, and the Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) Advisory Board.
