Wava Carpenter is the Acting Director of Design Miami/, the global forum for collecting, exhibiting, discussing and creating design. Ms. Carpenter oversees all curatorial aspects of the show’s production. She works closely with exhibiting galleries, satellite presenters, award winners and talks participants to ensure quality, substance and cultural relevance of all programming and content presented as part of the fair. Prior to joining Design Miami/, Ms. Carpenter was the Contemporary Design Curatorial Fellow for the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum (NY), as well as a Design Studies Instructor at Parsons The New School for Design (NY). She received her MA in History of Decorative Arts & Design from Parsons The New School of Design.
